Being a parent or caregiver can make your life feel like an island. For queer folks caring for kids and families, connection to others who get it can be a lifeline, but isn’t always easy to find.

Family Friend is a community organization looking to change that for LGBTQIA2S+ parents, caregivers, youth, and the village that supports them in Portland, Oregon. We’re creating a private online community, and a trusted network of caregivers and family resources, built by & for queer families and caregivers.

As we grow this network, we bring together people and projects where family is centered, neighbors and resources are connected, and real community can be forged. Our focus is on nurturing our community and spreading our net of support far & wide by engaging in intersectional community partnerships, local activism, and mutual aid.

Through family friendly popups and activities, caregiver community building, and nesting resources, we are creating a sustainable foundation to support LGBTQIA2S+ families in our neighborhoods and beyond.
